Pamukkale / Traverten

Traverten is a versatile rock structure, formed by chemical reactions resulting in precipitation, due to various causes and environment. The geologic events that led to the thermal sourcing of Pamukkale affected a large area. In this region there are 17 hot water areas with temperatures ranging from 35-100 degrees Celsius. Pamukkale thermal source is a unit with the big potential for the region. This thermal source has been used since ancient times.

After the thermal water is discharged from the source, it reaches a travertine through a 320m channel, and from there it is poured into the 60-70m traverten floors .
